This park is one of the most beautiful places in Mexico City and is ideal for be in contact with nature. 

The Xochimilco Ecological Park covers 180 hectares, of which one fifth are water mirrors (lakes, swamps and canals). Here you can observe original flora and fauna species from the south of the basin and many migratory birds. The Park includes an Information Center and four large areas: Recreational Area, Botanical Garden, Natural Bird Reserve and Xochitla Garden.

The park offers a children's play area, palapas, picnic tables, an 8.7 km long jogging path, a structure for sheltering bicycles with 36 bases, spaces to exercise, a rest area known as "La Isla", parking and modules to collect waste.

The Bird Nature Reserve is a refuge and is a pleasant place for bird watching, as it has a large number of resident birds and is visited by hundreds of migratory birds. Here you can see species such as the white heron, brown heron, ducks and grackles, among many others.

In the Botanical Garden diverse plant species native to the region are shown.

You can also visit the Chinampa Xóchitl Museum, which is a didactic chinampa of 1,100 m2 with there are 11 species of vegetation, and Lake Mayor Huetzalin, as well as the spectacular gardens and decorative murals. Another attraction of the park is the Paseo de los Ahuehuetes, a wide path that runs through these majestic trees.
