It is located on the borders of the State of Mexico and Michoacán and is an area where there are a large number of natural pools or hot springs with a high content of salts and minerals that are said to be good for skin treatments and to reduce inflammation.

In addition, some of the springs accumulate mud or clay that can be applied all over the body and experience much smoother skin, or to improve the healing process after an accident or operation.

The pools reach temperatures of up to 80ºC and are surrounded by a beautiful wooded landscape where it is not uncommon to see some geysers that are perceived as white smoke chimneys that contrast with the greenery of the trees.

In Los Azufres there are hotels, cabins and spas. The best time to visit is in February and March when it is not so cold and before the rainy season.

It is not advisable to stay in the hot springs pools for more than two hours. Also, not to be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol and it is also important to stay hydrated.
