Top things to discover in La Lobera

It is an amazing site where you can enjoy the sea and the wonderful mountains. La Lobera is a haulout created when the ceiling of a cave collapsed and resulted in a circular space overlooking the sea and beach. This unique place in the shape of a crater has a viewing deck from which you can observe dozens of harbor seals enjoying sunbathing and playing.

On the way you can appreciate the typical desert vegetation of the peninsula the habitat of many species including the osprey and the so-called "juancitos", a kind of small squirrel. It is recommended to take a four-wheel drive vehicle in good condition to travel off-road.

It is considered a natural sanctuary and a breeding ground for sea lions. In addition, on the next beach it is not difficult to find starfish and there is an abalone farm. Breeding happens from March to May, with birthing occurring between April and May. Courtship and mating occur under water, but the annual birthing of pups occurs on shore.

Best time to visit La Lobera

Four-wheel drive is recommended but if there haven’t been any recent rains, it may be accessible in a high-clearance two-wheel drive.
