A 9-kilometer long and a few hundred meters wide island.
It is a landscape that still remains untouched. There are un-restored Maya remains consisting of platforms, buildings around plazas, and some columns.
The island is the habitat of spider monkeys, raccoons, coatis, agoutis, and a spectacular population of birds, such as blue herons and ospreys.
The tropical vegetation and the breeze are very relaxing, making it an ideal place for rest. It has white sands and calm waters, perfect for water sports such as sailing or for kayaking or pedal boating.
Close by, you can visit rocky substrate pools, which are habitats for fish such as grouper, where you can go diving, fishing, and snorkeling.
There is a restaurant area where you can savor dishes like breaded shrimp, dogfish empanadas, or buttered crabs.
This small island with white sands and calm waters is located in the Chetumal Bay, and boats can be rented from the city's pier to reach the island.
