It is also known as Bird Island. It's a rocky archipelago that is part of the Gulf Islands Biosphere Reserve and is home to a large community of birds such as the blue-footed booby, seagulls, cormorants, and brown pelicans, among others.
It's one of the main breeding areas for sea lions, with a colony of over 2,500 specimens.
Various water activities can be done in the surrounding area. It's not uncommon to see dolphins swimming around the island, and during the winter months (October-April), you can also spot orcas and whales.
There are several tour operators in Puerto Peñasco that offer tours to the island.
