The island is actually the top of a volcano that emerged from the sea.

It is considered the "Jewel of Loreto." The island offers an attractive tour where you can encounter resident seabirds, sea lions, massive rock formations, and white sand dunes.

It is covered with a series of steep rocky mounds, except for the southeast part, as well as sand dunes that are visited by sea turtles to lay their eggs.

The northern end is characterized by lava cliffs and spectacular rock formations, which are the habitat for a colony of sea lions and an incredible number of birds such as pelicans, blue-footed boobies, terns, and frigatebirds.

On the southern side, several bays with white sandy beaches and calm waters offer beautiful spots for swimming among the rock formations.

The underwater topography is often steep, and walls and deep ledges are common at all dive sites. Diving with sea lions is a great attraction, as they are curious and playful creatures. However, one of the main highlights of this underwater landscape is the vast forests of black coral stretching as far as the eye can see, along with a healthy population of groupers, barracudas, invertebrates, and, of course, tons of reef fish.

In summary, the island offers volcanic landscapes, sea lions, and paradise-like beaches. You can book a Tour to Coronado Island, sail through the Loreto Bay National Park, and snorkel in its crystal-clear waters.
