It was built in the late 17th century as a sugar mill.
During the colonial era, Córdoba and its surroundings were the most important sugar region in New Spain.
In recent years, it has been renovated and converted into a Cultural Center where important remnants of Córdoba's history can be seen. It offers courses and workshops, as well as concerts, theater performances, exhibitions, and film screenings.
In front of it is the Rafael Murillo Vidal Park, with beautiful green spaces, aviaries, and butterfly gardens.
Additionally, within the former hacienda, there is "La Zafra" National Sugar Cane Museum, which narrates the history of the importance of sugarcane in the region. The museum displays clothing, machinery, photos, and narratives related to sugar and its derivatives production.
