It is part of the Cuyutlán Lagoon, the largest in Colima. The estuary has mangrove vegetation and is the habitat of 130 species of birds, as well as a great diversity of fauna. This is where the Ecological Center of Cuyutlán "El Tortugario" is located.
Walks are offered to get to know this entire ecosystem in depth and of course you can actively participate to release a baby turtle into the sea.
