Its name is due to the fact that the state of Colima "finishes off" or ends in this place, it is the border with Jalisco.
This is a quiet community where there are 2 ponds, which were part of the first hydroelectric plant built in the State, inaugurated in 1906. This plant had German technology and illuminated the capital for the first time that same year.
After working for 60 years, the plant stopped working and in its place today you can find an ecotourism trail, camping areas, recreational fishing and boat rides in its ponds and a Site Museum where you can learn the history of the facilities.
On your walk through the machine rooms, you can appreciate some holes that were used by the inhabitants of the region to protect themselves from the Cristero revolution.
Additionally, in front of the powerhouse you can distinguish vestiges of the Camino Real, and you can even see how it continues on the other side of the ravine.
The community offers an enramada or family restaurant with a beautiful view of the lake where you can savor some of the regional specialties, as well as some modest cabins.
