This is the most visited cave in the entire El Cielo Biosphere due to its impressive surreal landscapes, including rocks shaped into fantastic formations, moss-covered canyons, and ancient trees that are home to a variety of birds.

These landscapes are the result of rainwater seepage, which also promotes the formation of underground rivers and lagoons where blind fish live. These corners can only be explored by expert spelunkers, but you can still enjoy most of the wonders the cave has to offer as it has over 50 steps and railings for the safety of the whole family.

During your adventure, you will come across a chamber over 70 m high, where you can observe a large number of stalactites and stalagmites.

To reach the cave, you need to hire a guide in San José, as it is not advisable to explore the cave or the mountain on your own.

Activities:

  • Caving
  • Observing flora y fauna
  • Hiking

Location

To reach this natural beauty, you have to walk from the town of San José for approximately 40 minutes. Located about 140 km, roughly three hours from Ciudad Victoria.
