The hill is located in the municipality of San Carlos and has an altitude of 1,680 meters above sea level, making it the highest elevation in the Sierra de San Carlos.
Other elevations in the range include Cerro de la Virgen and Cerro de San Pablo.
This area is considered an ecological island with a semi-dry climate. Here, you can find vegetation such as shrubs and deciduous lowland forest that grows along some streams.
As for fauna, you can find deer, wild boars, pumas, armadillos, coyotes, and a large number of squirrels. It's also a good place for birdwatching, and among the species you can find are owls, doves, quails, roadrunners, hawks, and crows, among others.

Location
Located approximately 123 km, about an hour and a half north of Ciudad Victoria.
If you visit the area, don't miss the small town of San Carlos, where you'll find some interesting 18th-century buildings such as the San Carlos Borromeo Temple and the Casa del Capitán Lores.
