Templo y Ex Convento La Asunción de Yautepec

This cultural heritage site was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1994.

It was built by the Dominicans in 1567 and has been modified several times over time.

The tower of the bell tower, a small courtyard, and its beautiful mural paintings with a marked Mudéjar influence decorating the covered cloister with a barrel vault stand out.

Inside, there are mural paintings and a nave with three side chapels, one of which houses a Baroque altarpiece.

The geometric decoration of its vaults is admirable, featuring the order's coat of arms.

In the lower part of the cloister, one can distinguish paintings of San Antonio de Florencia, Santo Domingo de Guzmán, San Jerónimo, San Francisco de Asís, San Telmo, and Pope Benedict XI, who belonged to the Dominican order, among others.
