It is a masterpiece by the architect Francisco Eduardo Tresguerras.

Its facade features a neoclassical style, and its interior is worth appreciating, with beautiful murals and paintings depicting Christian history. 

In front of the temple, there is a statue of its creator, the Celaya-born Tresguerras.
