Templo de Santa Mónica
It was founded in 1720 and is one of the finest examples of Salomonic Baroque in Guadalajara.
The current church was part of the disappeared Santa Monica Convent, which was destroyed in the early 20th century to build the seminary.
The beautiful Baroque portals consist of two magnificent and attractive sections. The first section features two pairs of Salomonic columns on each side of the sunken door, beautifully decorated with dozens of grapevine clusters.
In recent years, it has been restored, revealing interesting discoveries such as 18th-century murals, medals, coins, crucifixes, statues, and clay utensils, among many other objects.
