Built between 1568 and 1580, it was the first parish in Xalapa.

It is located in the old neighborhood of Techacapan, at the end of "Jesús te Ampare" alley.

This church was modified between 1768 and 1770 and has witnessed several historical events. It housed the remains of Maximilian on their way to the Old Continent, and Lerdo de Tejada and Antonio López de Santa Anna were baptized here.

Inside, there is a three-nave layout and a neoclassical wooden altarpiece decorated with vegetal figures.
