You can still see an open chapel installed in the apse of the temple.
This monumental work was built in the first half of the 16th century. It preserves an extensive collection of paintings on its walls depicting religious figures and scenes that show a clear influence of indigenous art.
Inside, there is a painting depicting the baptism of the Tlaxcaltecan chieftains.
As for the temple itself, its construction dates back to the 19th century. It has a sober stone facade and only one single-towered body.
An interesting archaeological site can also be visited nearby.
