Santo Domingo de la Frontera
The Santo Domingo de la Frontera site was founded on August 30, 1775, by Dominicans Manuel García and Miguel Hidalgo.
It is located 103 kilometers northeast of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario mission.
The site includes a chapel, living quarters, a kitchen, carpentry and masonry workshops, a granary, and a forge.
It was abandoned in 1839 for unknown reasons and was the second mission built along the Camino Real.
Remnants of adobe walls still stand, and there is a chapel that houses the original 18th-century saints.
Location
It is located 260 km south of Tijuana, 180 km south of Ensenada, and 20 km north of San Quintín, off Federal Highway No. 1.
