It represents one of the most important green spaces in the Metropolitan Area. It covers 113 hectares of green areas, an educational ecological trail, the Metrocan dog park, and three jogging routes (3.3 km, 5 km, and 7 km).

It is also an excellent place for observing flora and fauna, especially during the bird migration season.

It was inaugurated on February 14, 1997, as part of the celebrations commemorating the 445th anniversary of the Foundation of Guadalajara.
