Palacio de Huitziméngari
At the main square, you will find this beautiful residence dating back to the 16th century.
The mansion belonged to Prince Antonio de Huitziméngar, son of the last Purepecha ruler or Cazique and godson of the first Viceroy of New Spain, don Antonio de Mendoza.
Its sober facade contrasts with its magnificent interior architecture. It features a beautiful courtyard surrounded by a magnificent arcade.
Today, it serves to exhibit various crafts, as well as to promote workshops and courses on Purepecha culture.
