Regional History Museum of Colima
The building that currently houses the Regional Museum of Colima's History dates back to the 18th century.
It is part of the architectural heritage of the city of Colima.
The exhibition covers the pre-Hispanic era, the Colonial period, Independence, and the Revolution.
On the ground floor, there are seven archaeological rooms that display pieces from one of the oldest Mesoamerican cultures, the Capacha culture. It also showcases the relationship between the volcano and daily life, the rite of death, fantastic zoology, and the self-representation and identity of the pre-Hispanic world.
The upper floor, with eight rooms, addresses the following themes: Earth, Sea, Sky, Silk (2 rooms), Iron, and Cloth (2 rooms).
