José María Velasco Museum
The aim of this venue is to showcase the work of the landscape painter from Temascalcingo, José Ma. Velasco.
It is located in a beautiful building constructed between the late 18th and early 19th centuries, which was initially a residential house and later a candle factory.
It consists of 11 rooms: seven dedicated to the work of the landscape painter (in chronological sequence), two dedicated to the theme of Mexican painters from the second half of the 19th century, and the last two rooms are for temporary exhibitions.
This museum is connected to the Felipe Santiago Gutiérrez Museum, as the Mexican 19th-century painting room is shared by both museums.
It has a bookstore, cafeteria, guided tours, and is used as a venue for conferences, concerts, and other cultural activities.
