Mummy Museum
Mummification in Guanajuato is a spontaneous or natural phenomenon caused by the limestone or clayey terrain along with a semi-warm climate.
The first mummy exhumed was that of French physician Don Remigio Keroy, buried on June 9, 1865.
Currently, the Mummies Museum has a total of 119 mummies and four heads, with notable displays in the second and third halls, where the mummies of infants and the four heads are located.
The museum also features a projection room with an introductory video, a recreation of its origins, stories of the deaths of some of the mummies on display, and the preserved clothing, among other things.
