Museo de las Culturas de Occidente "María Ahumada de Gómez"
The Museum of Western Cultures is part of the facilities of the Casa de la Cultura in the city.
It is one of the most important museums in the western part of the country, due to the quantity and diversity of archaeological pieces it exhibits.
The museum is divided into two main sections. The first one is located on the ground floor and displays petroglyphs and various ceramic pieces. The second section consists of rooms dedicated to showcasing the cultural advancements or changes that the peoples of Colima underwent throughout history.
It features 11 rooms with permanent exhibitions, housing one of the most significant collections donated by researcher María Ahumada, with over 2,300 pieces, including one of Colima's most notable objects known as the Dancing Dogs.
There are also some temporary exhibition rooms, a gift shop, guided tours, and parking facilities.
