A sculpture of the legendary Otomí warrior Tlalhuicolli or Tlahuicole.

The monument was made of plaster in the early 1950s by the Catalan sculptor Manuel Villard.

This marvelous work was created at the Academy of San Carlos in Mexico City and had to wait until the 1960s to find a definitive location at the exit of the city of Tlaxcala.

In addition to the original, two bronze copies were made, one of which is preserved by the National Institute of Fine Arts, and the other is safeguarded by the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Location

Av. Independencia, Tlaxcala, Tlax.
