Misión de Santiago de los Coras Aiñiní
This mission was founded in 1724 by the Italian Jesuit Ignacio María Nápoli.
It was built with the financing of the Marquis of Villapuente de la Peña, José de la Puente y Peña.
Located in the place that the native Pericúes called Aiñiní, about 40 km north of San José del Cabo.
This mission was one of the primary targets during the Pericú Rebellion in 1734, resulting in the mission's overseer, Father Lorenzo Carranco, being murdered and the mission looted.
Its reconstruction began in 1734 but was definitively abandoned in 1795, and the remaining population was relocated to the Mission of San José del Cabo Añuití.
Currently, there are hardly any vestiges left.
