Misión de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción de Cadegomó
It was founded by the Jesuits in the 18th century.
It was established in a place that the Cochimí people called Cadigoma, which means 'Stream of Reeds.' The construction was led by Father Javier Nicolás Tamaral, who began building the road that would connect this mission with San José Comondú in 1717.
The mission of La Purísima was completed in 1720 and was dedicated to the religious advocacy of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception.
Father Tamaral, along with the mission, created orchards and planted grains to feed the natives and the staff who served the mission.
Currently, only a few stones of the mission remain.
