Built from 1756 to 1796, it was the last church erected in the Spanish province of Yucatan.
It is a beautiful construction that, on its facade, at the main entrance, bears a Latin inscription sunk within a tall, semicircular arch that resembles a large shell.
Inside, it houses a large image of the Virgin of Guadalupe. In fact, Guadalupe devotees come every year to pay their devotion to this image.
In front of the temple, there is a pleasant park and ice cream parlors that are famous for their delicious ice cream.
