Previously it was known as the Independence Staircase.

The staircase is simultaneously a monument, fountain, promenade, and athletic track.

It was built in the 1960s, close to the historic center of the city of Tlaxcala.

On the sides, you'll find statues of figures from the Revolution and the Mexican War of Independence, which is why it is called the Escalinata de los Héroes (Staircase of the Heroes).

Climbing the 250 steps will lead you to a viewpoint with a spectacular panoramic view of the city.

Location

Avenida Vicente Guerrero, esquina con Blvd. Mariano Sánchez, Col. Centro, Tlaxcala, Tlax.
