El Charco del Ingenio
It is a beautiful ecological reserve and botanical garden with an extensive collection of cacti and other succulent plants native to Mexico, spanning 67 hectares.
The garden features a series of trails, viewpoints, bird sanctuaries, remnants of aqueducts and hydraulic works from the past, and an interactive garden for children.
It is an ideal place to connect with nature and have a picnic, especially the Plaza de los Cuatro Vientos, which is a panoramic and ceremonial space within the Botanical Garden. It is a plaza built with colorful stones and is inspired by the Toltec Chichimeca Codex.
There is a shop where you can purchase crafts, organic products, and books related to plants and gardens. Additionally, there is a cafeteria and a juice bar.
As an interesting fact, during his visit to Mexico, the Dalai Lama granted it the title of Zone of Peace in 2004, which means it is a space dedicated to the conservation of nature and is free from violence and weapons.
