The Convent of Saint Catherine of Seine is considered the oldest in the city and the first Dominican convent in New Spain.
The church underwent several construction stages; in the mid-17th century, it was remodeled and expanded, and in the early 18th century, the vault was constructed. The church was finally completed in 1750.
The temple consists of a single nave aligned with the street. Its facade is austere and features two simple doorways.
The beautiful bell tower has a single body covered in brick and tiles, which is characteristic of Puebla's architecture and blends perfectly with the dome's decoration.
The interior preserves its beautiful stiped Baroque altarpieces that have withstood the test of time. The current main altar is neoclassical in style, although it is known to have had a Baroque style.
