The Church of San Juan Bautista in Totolac was built in the late 17th century.
Its ancient facade showcases various materials such as limestone, quarry stone, and bricks, giving it a texture of unique beauty.
Its slender bell tower features mixed-style windows of singular design and is topped by a small dome covered in Talavera mosaic. A distinctive feature of the ensemble is an atrial wall with inverted arches.
During its festival, the atrium is adorned with colorful sawdust carpets, flowers, and seeds depicting the image of San Juan Bautista.
Totolac is one of the most picturesque Otomi-origin villages in Tlaxcala.
