It is characterized by a beautiful sculpture of San Cristóbal Mártir, said to have been brought from Guatemala.

Its square was shared with the city's first bullring, and later, with the arrival of the railway, its access was blocked.

Despite its modifications, it still preserves its original facade, which can be seen at the back. In 1965, a new entrance was opened on the east side of the temple.
