Templo y Ex Convento de Santo Domingo de Guzmán de Hueyapan
This cultural heritage site was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1994.
Built between 1530 and 1550, this construction was initiated by the Franciscans and later handed over to the Dominicans.
This mid-16th century building has peculiarities such as the church facing south and the cloister facing north, along with the convent's orchard.
It consists of three restored chapels and magnificent murals that contrast with the simplicity of the exterior.
On the walls of its corridors, there is an important corpus of codices created over 450 years ago, depicting the tribute of the Tlalquitenango Valley. It consists of 15 fragmented codices in 345 pieces.
