This cultural heritage site was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1994.
It is located in a small town at the foot of the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes.
The complex was built in 1548 and features a spacious atrium enclosed by a wall with battlements and three stone arches.
The main facade of the convent, in Plateresque style with certain Mudéjar elements, is one of the most admirable in all of Puebla.
The group of ancient poza chapels is located at the four corners of the atrium, each decorated with different themes: the Virgin of Sorrows, the Passion of Christ, the Annunciation, and the Last Judgment.
Inside, the main altar stands out, featuring an image of Saint Andrew made with bird feathers dating back to the 16th century.
