Built in the mid-18th century, initially by the Jesuits and later by the Dominicans.

The Dominicans made this church the second most important in the city after the Cathedral.

The building was constructed with red regional quarry stone and features a beautiful baroque-style carved stone facade. The construction is mounted on a base that compensates for the natural slope of the hill on which it was built.

Inside, you can admire eight incredible altars. One of the most beautiful is dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe, although the Chapel of Loreto and the lateral altar of Las Ánimas are also interesting.

The main altarpiece was replaced in the 19th century with the current neoclassical-influenced one.

The sacristy preserves eight excellent oil paintings by the master Francisco Martínez.
