This temple was built from 1733 to 1770.
The temple belonged to the Oratory of San Felipe Neri congregation.
In 1840, the construction of the adjoining retreat house was completed, and the bell towers were added later in the 19th century. Currently, the house is occupied by a hospital.
The facade consists of three levels and is built with green quarry stone. The style is Baroque, with cornices and balustraded columns with Corinthian capitals. Above the entrance door, there is a niche with the sculpture of San Felipe Neri made of yellow quarry stone.
Inside, there are several paintings, including notable ones depicting the Coronation of the Virgin by the Holy Trinity, and the Institution of the Rosary with Saint Dominic and Saint Diego de Alcalá, created by Juan de Páez and Agustín de Santaella. At the top, there are four enormous oval medallions, approximately five by three meters, with beautiful paintings of archangels adorned with vegetal elements. The temple features a beautiful altar covered in gold.
This church is where Benito Juárez and Margarita Maza got married in 1843.
