Templo de San Agustín
It was built between 1621 and 1631 by Bishop Fray Gonzalo de Hermosillo, the main authority of the place.
In the subsequent years, renovations and expansions were made.
In the 19th century, master stonemason Benigno Montoya added a Neo-Gothic facade with simple column decorations and placed images of saints and virgins of great artistic quality on the main altar. The beautiful side entrance stands out, featuring angels and an eagle.
The temple has such a wealth of details in its facade and interior that it is a must-visit in the city of Durango.
