Puerta del Mar (Gate of the Sea)
It is one of the four entrances that were part of the walled circuit during the piracy era.
It was built during the 17th and 18th centuries and features a simple facade, with a stone-carved galleon on its large gate.
In the past, it served as the main exit from the city to the sea.
The original gate was demolished in 1893 and reconstructed in 1953.
On the gate, the remains of the watchtower and the stairways that provided access to the patrol path are still visible.
Standing beneath the gate, the old Puerta de Tierra can be seen at the other end of the city.
