Pinacoteca "Juan Gamboa Guzmán"
The Art Gallery features permanent exhibitions of oil paintings.
The collection consists of anonymous paintings from the colonial period, some portraits of personalities from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as a series of bronze sculptures by the sculptor Gottdiener called "The Bronze Mayas." In this series, the author portrays an original perspective of the Maya people, highlighting their physical features, clothing, and customs.
It also presents works by Gabriel Vicente Gahona, also known as "Picheta," a Yucatecan artist who created engravings for the D. Bullebulle newspaper, offering a satirical view of Merida's society more than 150 years ago.
The gallery also hosts occasional temporary exhibitions.
