Parroquia de Santiago Apóstol (Parish)
The parish dates back to the mid-18th century.
Although the town where it was initially founded was called Santiago de Mapimí, the population is currently known as Nombre de Dios in Gómez Palacio, Durango.
The history of the parish dates back to the 16th century when a small temple was built. However, in later years, modifications and expansions were made until the current building was achieved.
The temple's carved quarry facade displays a beautiful style reminiscent of Mudéjar architecture, with a conopial arch surrounded by beautiful foliage ornaments.
