Parque La Pólvora
This park was mistakenly named, as its builders confused the Mayito Lagoon with La PólvoraLagoon.
It is one of the largest green areas in the city. Formerly a swamp, it has been transformed into a beautiful body of water surrounded by grass, ornamental plants, and lush almond, macuilis, ficus, willow, mango, and palm trees.
The park features walking paths, cycling and athletics tracks, playgrounds, palapas (thatched-roof structures), benches, lampposts, small viewpoints, and artificial waterfalls that oxygenate the tranquil waters of the restored lagoon. Fish such as trout, tilapia, and garfish inhabit the lagoon.
