Parque Ecoturístico Punta Sur (Zona Sujeta a Conservación Ecológica Laguna Colombia)

Colombia Lagoon, mangroves, jungle, coastal dunes, mangrove systems, and beautiful beaches combine to create a wonderful tropical landscape spanning over a thousand hectares. It is the largest ecological reserve in Cozumel.

This reserve is an example of ecological balance, covering a wide variety of natural landscapes. It boasts abundant flora and fauna within its lagoon refuge. The reserve includes white sandy beaches and the extraordinarily transparent waters alongside multiple reef formations.

The adventure begins at the "Interpretation Center," where displays and models showcase the park's attractions and the route to explore all points of interest.

Next, you can board the ecological truck that will take you to the lighthouse, where you will be welcomed by a guide. Visiting or not entering the lighthouse is optional.

The Celarain Lighthouse houses a museum dedicated to navigation and also exhibits Mayan archaeological remnants such as the Caracol Tomb. From its top, you can enjoy a unique panoramic view of this portion of the island, including the lagoon complex and the Caribbean Sea.

The next stop is the beach area, an ideal place for snorkeling. The tour continues at the pier, where you can board a catamaran to enjoy a ride through Colombia Lagoon, marveling at the variety of birds in the magnificent mangroves in the area.

Finally, a stop is made at the Ruin of the "Caracol Tomb," and the crocodile area is visited.

There are areasfor observing crocodiles, as mangroves serve as a natural refuge for these ancient animals.

The beaches are a sanctuary for sea turtles, as they come ashore each year to lay their eggs. Additionally, the crystal-clear and calm waters are perfect for snorkeling and experiencing the wonders of the nearby reefs.

In Colombia Lagoon, you can take a boat ride for bird watching and mangrove exploration.

The park provides restrooms, chairs, hammocks, showers, restaurants, and souvenir shops.
