The park offers the opportunity to learn more about the planet's past. You can experience the evolutionary history depicted in the rocks in a completely natural outdoor environment.

It features a paleontological exhibition of the Mixteca Poblana region, interpretive trails showcasing prehistoric life with diagrams and extinct animals. It also offers pre-Hispanic saltworks and onyx quarries.

You can also see the "Capilla enterrada" (Buried Chapel), which consists of the ruins of a church in Las Ventas, Zapotitlán de Salinas.
