Its beautiful facade showcases the style known as "Puebla Baroque."
This building can be seen from the atrium of the Cathedral, and its facade features tile panels representing the bishopric, symbolized by fleurs-de-lis.
During the colonial era, it was the only building in Puebla referred to as a "palace" because it served as the private residence of the bishops since the early 17th century. In 1792, it underwent a significant remodeling that likely resembles its current structure the most.
As a result of the Reform Laws, the building ceased to function as the residence of the bishopric. Between 1861 and 1863, it served as the government palace; in 1914, it was used as a school, and later it was designated as the offices of the Traffic Department.
Currently, it houses the Post Office and Telegraph offices.
