Palacio de Música, Museo Interactivo

The Palace of Music, Interactive Museum occupies the space where the State Congress was previously located.

Its goal is to preserve and promote regional music. Its facade features an eclectic and modern design that reproduces the piano roll of the song "Esta tarde vi llover" by Armando Manzanero.

It includes an auditorium with a capacity for 450 people, where presentations and concerts can be held. It also offers a professional studio for state-of-the-art recordings, classrooms for the Bachelor's Degree in Music, and a sound library.

The complex features a museum with eight virtual rooms that utilize modern technology to showcase the history of music from pre-Hispanic times.

The first room offers a guitar with a touchscreen and headphones to provide a more interactive experience of the sounds and tones of different instruments. It also features a video of people from around the world singing and playing a variety of instruments.

The second room discusses the music of pre-Hispanic cultures, allowing visitors to learn more about the instruments from that period.

In the following rooms, you can explore more about the popular music from different states of the country, with a focus on Yucatecan trova and jarana.

Throughout the museum, you can take a journey through time by playing music on record players, radio booths, and other interesting instruments.

Another interesting space is the cinema section, where holograms of characters tell the stories of Mexican cinema idols, as well as scenes from the most emblematic films of the golden era, including their songs.

It also has a giant screen for the projection of cultural activities, which is accessible to passersby, and a Music Alley.
