Museo Vivo de Artes y Tradiciones Populares
The Folk Arts Museum is located in what used to be the former Official Governor's House, built in 1950.
It exhibits over 3,000 pieces that represent the diverse cultural expressions of the state, including customs, beliefs, traditional clothing, construction systems, and more.
The "cuezcomate" (traditional gourd container), "temazcal" (traditional steam bath), an adobe-walled kitchen, elaborate embroidery, a family textile workshop, altars, and offerings for various religious festivities, as well as a "tinacal" (traditional pottery workshop), are part of this museum where the mix of pre-Hispanic and colonial cultures can be experienced.
The museum features a craft store, a temporary exhibition hall, and a multipurpose hall.
