Museo Regional de Antropología e Historia

The Museum of Anthropology is located in a modern building that was inaugurated in September 1984.

It has three rooms, one dedicated to the pre-Hispanic peoples of Chiapas; the second covers historical, artistic, and ethnographic aspects from the 16th century to the present day, and the third is used for temporary exhibitions.

In the upper part, the second room covers historical, artistic, and ethnographic aspects from the 16th century to the present day. This section highlights an important collection of colonial Chiapanecan art.

The museum offers an auditorium with a capacity of 250 people where book presentations, conferences, congresses, concerts, plays, and film screenings take place, among other activities.
