Guadalupe Posada Museum
It was inaugurated in 1972 and was the state's first art museum.
The building dates back to the early 19th century and was originally the curate's house of the Sr. del Encino temple.
It consists of two rooms: the first one contains an exhibition of Posada's work, with some of his original engravings, lead clichés, zincographies, photographs by the famous photographer Agustín Víctor Casasola, and newspaper clippings from the revolutionary era, as well as works by other nationally and internationally renowned authors such as José Fors, Tamayo, Mimo Paladino, among others. The second room is dedicated to Don Manuel Manilla, an engraver from the printing press of Don Antonio Vanegas Arroyo, teacher, and precursor of Posada. This room features the enormous press on which José Guadalupe Posada used to work.
The museum also has spaces for temporary exhibitions and a library with an approximate collection of 5,000 volumes.
It also has an engraving workshop, children's area, cafeteria, and souvenir shop. The museum offers guided visits, editorial presentations, conferences, and documentary screenings.
