Museo del Virreinato
The Viceroyalty Museum is housed in what used to be part of the old convent of the Discalced Carmelites, built in the 18th century.
The building highlights include the cloister and the monogram room.
The museum has six rooms of permanent exhibitions and displays various pieces covering the history from the fall of Tenochtitlan to the Independence.
The collection includes antiques, religious art, portraits of historical figures, and a magnificent collection of wrought iron.
It also has temporary exhibition rooms and a library; additionally, it offers art courses and workshops for children and teenagers.
