Museo del Fuego Nuevo (Museum of the New Fire)
The museum is located at the foot of the pyramid, and its construction serves as a link between pre-Hispanic heritage and the modern era.
It is divided into two areas: the exhibition halls or internal area, and an external area with a recreation zone, petroglyphs, a natural cave, and lateral staircases that allow visitors to ascend to the top of the pyramid.
The main hall exhibits over 500 pre-Hispanic pieces such as spindle whorls, projectile points, grinding tools, ceremonial and household vessels. In this space, you can also see large metal plates with the Legend of the Five Suns, which explain how time was counted in pre-Hispanic times, as well as the description of the Ceremony of the New Fire. Additionally, you can find codices and maps dating back to 1580.
The museum features educational areas, a library, guides, souvenirs, facilities for disabled individuals, an auditorium, temporary exhibition rooms, and green areas.
